FILES TO DOWNLOAD

Many of the charts and maps that I have created were produced using Adobe Illustrator 8.0. Most people, other than artist, don't have this program on their computers so I have converted them to Adobe Acrobat files. If you don't have the Adobe Acrbat Reader installed on your computer you can download a free copy from the following web site: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html The document files and the database files were created using Microsoft Word 97 and Microsoft Excel 97. I have converted them to pdf files but if you have these programs and would like them in the original format, let me know.

1876 Letter translation -

This is a translation of the orginal letters written by Selimea Thompson Slay (Louisa's Mother) and James C. Jordan (Louisa's brother in law). Paper was scarse back then so people took full advantage of the paper that was available. There are five separate letters on two sheets of paper that were written between March 11, 1876 and sometime in May of the same year. Selimea and James shared the paper. It appears that it was mailed from Washington County, Florida to John & Louisa in Santa Rosa County then it was mailed or carried back to them to use over and over again until the paper was no longer useful.
