Dan was born in Walterboro South Carolina on October 28, 1899.
He was a salesman most of his life and never meet a stranger. He had a gift with words and a story for
every situation. He was a very conscientious American citizen who wrote to his Congressmen and Senators
whenever he thought things needed to be changed or brought to their attention. Both Dan and Clara were
devout Christians that went to church regularly. I (Miles D. Cooper) remember my Uncle Dan telling me
that the most important thing to remember is to believe in God but to have faith in yourself and to use the
gifts that God has given us. God gave us these magnificent brains to solve our earthly problems. He was a
great man in every way.

On May 23, 1989, in DeLand, Florida, Dan passed away. He had chosen to be cremated and to have his ashes spread around a rose bush. He said any rose bush would do.
