These notes were written by Marshall Fisher Cooper, son of Charlie Robinson Cooper, grandson of James Fountain Cooper, shortly after his uncle Tom's death in 1946.

Marshall lived with his grandparents, James and Lucyann, from the age of 8 until he joined the Navy when he turned 16.
