Arlie Olevia Cooper was the eighth child,
third daughter of James Fountain Cooper and Lucyann Missouri Levins Cooper. She was
born on February 2, 1896 at home in Harold, Florida.
Her siblings were: Charles Robinson Cooper born 1880, George Washington Cooper born
1882, James Urwin Cooper born 1884, Lorina Cooper born 1886, John Jordan Cooper born
1889, Bessie Elizabeth Cooper born 1891, Thomas David Cooper born 1893, Susie Idell
Cooper born 1898, Andrew Jackson Cooper born 1901, and Leila Agnes Cooper born 1904.
On June 24, 1918, when Arlie was 20 years old, she married Jessie Walker Ingram.
During their lives together Arlie and Jessie had seven children. Their first child,
Otho Ingram, was born November 11, 1919 followed by Opal Ingram in 1921, Hubert Olen
Ingram in 1924, Glinnie Lovell Ingram in 1927, Naomi Ruth Ingram in 1930, Jerald David
Ingram in 1932 and Nolie Gene Ingram in 1935.
Arlie and Jessie had a farm in Holt, Florida where they raised their family.
Besides farming Arlie was very handy with a foot powered Singer sowing machine
with which she made all of her children's clothing as well as her own. Arlie
was also creative and designed and created beautiful cloth dolls. Jessie also
brought in extra money by planting trees, sharpening blades and other odd jobs.
After 46 years of marriage, Arlie passed-away on August 18, 1965. Her final
resting-place is in the Live Oak Park Cemetery in Crestview, Florida.
